IN THE BEGINNING
UPW was founded in 2003, based in Rochester, NY by Mike "Hellcat" Rosario.
It has had many different names and iterations in the past; From the beginning - Rochester Pro Wrestling (RPW), to Kayfabe Dojo Wrestling (KDW), to then taken the banner of National Wrestling Alliance Upstate (NWA Upstate), to National Wrestling Alliance New York (NWA NY) and finally today Upstate Professional Wrestling (UPW).....
What was once opened up in a garage has transformed into something so much bigger!
WHAT WAS NEXT
Many big names have come through the doors of UPW. From the likes of Brodie Lee, Dunn and Marcos, Matt Cross, Josh Prohibition, Jay Lethal, Azriel, Homicide, Up In Smoke, Colt Cabana, Danny Doring, Chris Hero, Dan Severn, Abyss, Bryan Danielson, Fergal Devitt, just to name a few!
Huge events were put together by the fine folks at UPW. Look no further than The Upstate 8; a tournament putting together some of the finest talent you have ever seen or better yet The Indytational! Whether it was tags, singles you knew you were going to see greatness!
FUTURE
Now located inside The Marketplace Mall, UPW has found a home not only for the huge events but for the Flower City Wrestling Academy. The stars of tomorrow are built through this academy. Time has shown the level of talent that has been built!
